We’ve
been learning about some new and fun stuff pertaining to Sobey’s. Today I’d like to touch upon a serious topic.
How Sobey’s as a company contributes to
those in need of support.
On
Sobey’s Website their slogan is “Proudly Canadian since 1907” and mention for
over 100 years Sobey’s has been proudly serving Canadian communities. They also have a commitment as follows:
At Sobeys, our commitment to proudly serve our communities is more than just a slogan, it is integral in the way we do business. The people who work in our stores, offices and retail support centres live up to this commitment everyday and are passionate about making a difference in their local communities.
At Sobeys, our commitment to proudly serve our communities is more than just a slogan, it is integral in the way we do business. The people who work in our stores, offices and retail support centres live up to this commitment everyday and are passionate about making a difference in their local communities.
If there
is one thing that Sobey’s is, they are most definitely passionate. They are partnered with several charities
across Ontario to provide accessible food to those who are less fortunate and
advocate a healthy and active lifestyle to children across Ontario. Such charities that Sobey’s supports are,
Boy’s and Girl’s clubs of Canada, Easter Seals, Kid’s Help Phone, Canadian
Cancer Society, Second Harvest, The Grocery Foundation etc.
Sobey’s
also offers community fundraisers in select stores across the province. Most recently in the Toronto, Ontario Sobey’s
store they ran a campaign by the name of “Harvest for Hunger” from September 28th,
2012 – October 7th, 2012. By
visiting your local Toronto Sobeys within these dates and donating $5 at the
checkout. Sobeys would match each donation up to $10,000. Donations provided much needed fresh food to
Toronto’s hungry.
Sobey’s
is doing some pretty great things and I’m glad I was able to share a bit about
it with all of you.
